While on a Florida family vacation on February 27, 1972 we visited the Kennedy Space Center. Astronaut and retired Rear Admiral Thomas Kenneth Mattingly II was Command Module Pilot (CMP) for the Apollo 16 mission whose Saturn V rocket was sitting on the pad that day. At left is a signed Apollo 16 white spacesuit portrait of Admiral Mattingly.

The above picture shows my Mother and me at Pad 39A at what was then called Cape Kennedy. The name has since reverted back to the original name of Cape Canaveral.
